Week III

These past few weeks have been pretty crazy. For school of course things can get hard with all the homework and assignments, but the big thing that happened to me these past few weeks was that my grandfather passed away. It was a shock to me because it was unexpected and was the first grandparent that I have lost. He meant a lot to me and had taught me so. He taught me how to be a hard worker, how to work well with others, how to be a good friend.               One thing my grandfather and I both really enjoyed doing is woodworking and building projects. That is a big reason I want to make a woodworking shop in his honor. A place for a community to come and build together, a place where we can learn and share attributes similar to what my grandfather has.               For what I have been...

Week II

This past week has been pretty crazy with all the different school work and lessons, but it has been fun. This week I loved the video entitled “Avoid the Wrong Job.” It has helped me to understand the idea of what a career is, and that the first job I do after school is not guaranteed to be my job for the rest of my life, I will have many different opportunities in life and many different unforeseen turns. I feel this course will help me to also know many great ways to overcome the challenges that will come in the future. Also, there have been many times in these past few weeks where I remember lots of what my parents have taught me about overcoming challenges that occur. I hope to also keep God nearby in my thoughts and decisions so that I can strive to a line my will with his such, as the Lord did so that when frailer does come, I will know how to overcome it with God and Jesus Christ’s help.     One thing I would also like to say is that I really felt the t...

Week I

Today is the first day in many I plan on recording where I am now and where I plan to be. I have done a lot to get to where I am now and know that I will need to do a lot more to get to where I want to be, but I feel that with the lessons I am learning here at BYUI, I can use them to get to my goals. I am especially excited about my entrepreneurial class and the lessons I will be learning there. My Dad is an entrepreneur and has set an example for me and I plan on applying many of the lessons I have learned from him to my life.  Things I hope to learn in this coming class are how to find the necessary resources to achieve entrepreneurial goals, and how to overcome failers that occur when striving to meet those goals. I know from experience that most first tries don't work and that is something a good entrepreneur should know and be ready to work around when the failers come.  Overall I believe this course will help a lot and I am really excited about it.
